We are living in unprecedented times, with the Covid-19 pandemic putting the world under immense pressure. In South Africa, it has forced President Cyril Ramaphosa to make some challenging choices, including a national lockdown, in an effort to save lives and curb the spread of the disease.

Elegant Fuel is playing its part during the national lockdown and beyond by providing an essential service, and remains fully operational during this time.

We are immensely proud of our staff who have been helping keep South Africa’s essential services supplied with fuel. We are working constantly, too, to safeguard the health of all our people at all times.

"To the taxi driver, the refuse collector, the supermarket cashier, the hospital cleaner, the petrol attendant and all those essential services workers, you are our unsung heroes, and we salute you.” – President Cyril Ramaphosa

Says Elegant Fuel director Ryno Strydom: “As a business providing an essential service, it makes me proud and emotional to see the amount of work put in by all our dedicated staff to serve our people. It’s not easy, but we need to be part of this value chain that is making a difference.

“Elegant wholeheartedly encourages and supports its employees to be the best they can, in an industry that is filled with hazards and long hours – even when we are not fighting a pandemic together.

“We always put our people first, including the communities in which we operate, students and schoolchildren, our customers, our staff and our business partners. We are grateful to all our Elegant teams and know that they will pull together through this.”

To ensure the health and safety of all our staff, we’re in constant communication with Elegant Fuel owners, managers and teams to ensure they’re up to date with regulations and that every precaution is taken to keep them safe.

To our employees providing this essential service at all our service stations across South Africa, we salute and thank you. To our fellow essential services workers, we’re working hard to keep you safe and mobile.
